Like so many things in life, plans fracture when they encounter reality.
As I make (too slow!) progress on the first draft of the book, I’ve slowly come to realize that the planned chapter outline would produce a thousand-page monster. This is not what I intended.
The solution – like so many other things – is to break it down into smaller pieces.
Object Mechanics – the Series
So the revised plan is to publish Object Mechanics as a series:
- Object Mechanics 1: A Practical Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming
- Object Mechanics 2: Object-Oriented Programming Principles in Practice
- Object Mechanics 3: Advanced Object-Oriented Programming Concepts Applied
So, my percent-complete on the first book has suddenly jumped way up. A reduction in scope tends to do that!
Object Mechanics Guild (OMG)
If you haven’t yet joined the teeming masses of elite programmers in the Object Mechanics Guild, just fill out the form to the right. Doing so will reserve your place in history…or at least subscribe you to the newsletter and make you eligible for advance discounts when the book is published!
What is the Object Mechanics Guild? It’s the terribly exclusive inner circle of advisors and readers that are helping me shape the destiny of the book, and the future of mankind. Well, the future of the book, anyway.
As an Object Mechanics Guild member, your feedback will be instrumental in helping me make the best book possible for you.
Our motto: “OMG, we understand OOP!”
